Hi, I’m Jessica, and welcome to the Nutrition Science topics articles.
I know you are busy, time is precious, and you are wondering whether to take the time to study nutritional science.
What is the difference between studying nutrition science and not?
My answer is to learn it. If there is only one word to describe the difference between those who have studied and those who have not studied, it is happiness. Having studied nutrition science, your well-being quotient will be much higher.
Why does studying nutrition science improve well-being?
Let me explain. Well-being comes from many aspects, and I’ll mention two more relevant to your life.
The first one, well-being comes from the state of the body.
Many diseases, especially chronic diseases, accumulate adverse consequences because we do not identify the body’s needs in time. But unfortunately, our body is always a little late recognizing the correct nutritional needs. For example, when we feel thirsty, our body is already lacking 500 ml of water.
Sometimes it’s hard even to connect the symptoms of the moment to diet. And the best way to enhance your state’s well-being is not to remedy the situation but to take action before the disease occurs. The supply principle of nutritional science emphasizes the timing of nutrient intake, with supply preceding demand recognition.
The second one, well-being comes from the choice of the moment.
You know that many foods are bad for your health, but when faced with cream cakes, burgers, and Coke, it’s easy to stray from the right direction regarding choices.
And it’s not your fault. In the view of nutritional science, the essence of human health is a game between one’s reason and body.
If you listen entirely to your body’s desires, hundreds of thousands of years of human evolution have made us more inclined to choose foods high in sugar and fat, which will inevitably lead to health evils. But if you listen to reason thoroughly, within a few times, the body will violently resist. In the end, it is mostly reason that surrenders.
In this way, we are in a cycle of “give up – control – give up again – control again,” and cannot get out of it.
How can we break this cycle and improve our sense of well-being?
This brings us to the principles of nutrition science interventions on the human body. Simply put, interventions are about servant leadership. Nutrition science many times looks like it is doing servant support work, but it is actually leading the entire process to move forward smoothly.
There are more principles of nutritional science that can improve our well-being in the article. I’ll talk to you more about it in detail in a later article.
Why Should You Study Nutrition Science?
Many patients with advanced cancer have the same dilemma: they have no appetite to eat any food. Don’t underestimate this problem, if they can’t eat, many treatments have to be stopped if their nutritional status is in question. This is where a consultation with a nutritionist can be of great help. Modern nutritional science and technology allow patients to have more ways to take in nutrients, maintain their vitality, and obtain more opportunities for treatment.
Some dietitians have no medical foundation and clinical experience, and when faced with a consultant, it is easy to simplify the complex problems of the human body and use fragmented knowledge of nutrition science to solve the individual problems of the consultant. Many people have the same impression of nutritional science, with fragmented knowledge, some of which are even contradictory.
In fact, this is all because they have not established a knowledge network of nutrition science in their brains. In this topic article, I will help you to build an overall framework about nutrition science.
How will I present this framework to you?
I’ve broken it down into five modules.
The first module, Understanding Nutrition.
We need to have a holistic understanding of “nutrition”, including what nutrition science means by nutrition, its metabolic rules at the macro level, and its relationship with genes at the micro level.
The second module, The seven nutrients.
This is the classic composition of modern nutrition science. The interaction of nutrients and human cells affects the state of our body. But we don’t usually eat by nutrients, food is a mixture.
The third module, Nutrition and dietetics.
I will show you how to use the methodology of a nutritionist to evaluate food and choose food.
The fourth module, Nutrition and disease.
Preventing disease, treating disease, and supporting treatment, the science of nutrition permeates this entire process.
And the fifth module, Nutrition and life.
Let’s talk about how to reach some higher goals on top of a healthy diet, such as losing weight, enjoying good food and improving energy.
These five modules are combined to form this nutritional science topic article.
What are you waiting for? Come and learn it to improve your well-being. Of course, “nutrition” is often a family-oriented topic, and you are welcome to share it with your family and friends.
I’m Jessica and I’ll see you in the next post.
